Look Like a Pro Poker Player During Live Events

Everyone who plays online poker always asks me, "How important is my appearance at the poker table?" I always tell them its very very important because the way people may perceive your online play will be completely different during live play! The most important thing you can do is make people believe that you know exactly what the heck your doing.

I play the small stakes 2/1 cash tables at the Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Casino. You can only imagine the type of people that come to this casino. There will be players dressed to impress, NASCAR t-shirt with cutoff jeans, to the casual polo and khakis of some kind on any given night.

My belief is that you want other players to respect you without them ever knowing how you might play the game. So lets start off with your attire!

I always wear a pair of sunglasses! I will even buy a pair of cheap sunglasses at the gas station if I happen to forget mine. However, a cheap pair of shades is not what you want. Remember we are trying to convince other people that we win money every time we play. So lets check out a pair of Oakley or aviators. Both of these options from Amazon will impress others and give you a strong pair of sturdy shades to hide your soul to the world. There are many brands that will sell you great sunglasses from 100 dollars and up. I suggest you pick up a pair in between 100 and 200 US dollars. They are expensive but not over the top 500 dollar johnny cage glasses. Take these things off every once in awhile at the table. Making friends is not exactly a bad thing. It may be beneficial to give others real eye contact in between hands.

So in summary, your appearance will greatly benefit you whether it be at a cash table or a live poker event. Some articles of clothing may not work for you. So try and look the part with a little bit of experimentation. Next week we will be talking about the type of clothing you should be trying. So start your research early!
