A form of poker that a lot of people enjoy is Draw poker. What is draw poker? In this article that is exactly what we will try to find out.

In this variant of poker each player is deal with a complete hand. After the hand has been eliminated the first betting round begins. The reason the game is called draw poker is that player's can develop and improve their hand in the subsequent betting round by 'drawing cards'. The game being with each player being dealt five cards face down.

The players look at their cards and need to make sure that the other players do not see what they have. After the first round of betting if more than one player is still left in the game each player states how may cards, from their hand, they want to replace. The players surrender these cards and the dealer deals fresh cards to each player. The dealer will deal enough cards so that each player has five cards in hand. This is called the draw stage. Another round of betting is followed by the draw stage and if there are multiple players left the game ends with a showdown. The person with the highest hand wins.
