Craps Strategies

Latest Casino News 24 Apr , 2019 0

For entertainment value it can be hard to beat Craps. In a live casino it's usually the noisiest table so should be easy to locate! Players place their bets against the casino and the game is based on the results of dice rolls. Players bet on the output of the roll and, as such, it is dependent entirely on chance. Whilst the game itself is simple, in order to gain a real insight it is necessary to gain an understanding of the various bets involved. If you are new to the game it would be advisable to concentrate on pass line bets, and master that before progressing to other ones.

Considered the most common type of bet in Craps, the Pass Line bet simply involves a wager on the output of the dice roll. The first roll (Come Out roll) determines whether a Pass Line bet wins or loses. If a 7 or 11 is rolled, then the Pass Line bet wins. Should the total be 2, 3 or 12 then the Pass Line bet loses. If any other number is rolled it is called the 'point' and starts the series. Now this 'point' number needs to be rolled again before a 7 is rolled for the Pass Line bet to win. If a 7 is rolled first, the Pass Line bet loses.

The Do not Come Bet is the opposite of the Come Bet. This means that a player wins when a 2 or 3 is rolled and loses when a 7 or 11 is rolled. If a 7 is rolled before the point number is rolled again, the Do not Come Bet wins. For a Place Bet, the player wins if the number is rolled before a 7, but loses if the 7 is rolled first. A Field Bet is a single roll bet that can be made on any roll. If a 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 is rolled, the player wins even money. If a 2 or 12 is rolled, the player wins 2: 1. If a 5, 6, 7 or 8 is rolled, the player loses.

Whilst the Craps table layout may appear confusing to the novice, once you have gained a basic understanding of the various bets, things should appear a lot clearer. And what better way to learn the game than to play craps online in the privacy of your own home where you are not surrounded by other players!
