Exciting Things to Do in the City of Las Vegas

Finding events and entertainment while you're visiting will never be a problem if Las Vegas is the destination city you're headed to. Whether you and your party will be taking in the sights, shopping, sight-seeing on the strip, zip lining down The Fremont Experience on the new SlotZilla ride or doing some shopping over at North Premium Outlet Mall in one of the 34 new stores about to be completed. There is something for everyone.

Don't forget to try your luck in any one of the many casinos throughout the city. And as far as dress code goes for the casinos and the city for that matter it is very lax, within decency laws of course. Very few casinos do follow a dress code and those that do are situated in upmarket areas. Call up the casino before heading out or check their website if you have questions or concerns.

Ranked #1 on the list of must-see free shows is the Bellagio Fountains. These fountains were designed specifically to romance your senses and mesmerize and captivate the audience. Music during the day and music and lights in dancing water at night come together for an amazing effect. Show times start at 3pm - 8pm daily with shows on the half hour and then every 15 minutes from 8 pm until 12 a.m., weekends and holidays shows start at 12 p.m. going until 8pm with shows every half hour. After that outdoor wonder you should head downtown to check out the Mob Museum as this is a must do activity. You can literally spend hours in this museum ending up with information overload in Las Vegas history, how Vegas grew through mob influence and the role of local law enforcement and the time they had defeating organized crime with video accounts from local residents from that time era.

For the nature enthusiast don't worry Vegas even has something very special in store for you! Less than an hour's drive north of here is beautiful Mount Charleston, a quiet retreat away from the high energy of Las Vegas. The mountain itself stands at 11,918 feet and offers numerous outdoor activities, a beautiful ski resort, cabins to rent and hiking and climbing for days. One of the most breathtaking views of the valley can be seen from the peak of Mount Charleston. If it's views you want do not miss out on taking in the view of the Vegas valley from atop the Stratosphere Tower and Casino where you can ride rides that sit atop the tower if you so dare. There is a swing that will take you out a 1000 feet above the strip for a fast swinging 360 degree view moving rather swiftly around you and a very real very far drop beneath you. The super shot ride straps you in and shoots you straight up into the air even farther than you already are. Or you can ride the slide which sits you down and leans you over the side for a nail biting view that you are sure to never forget. As I said, activities or finding them will not be the issue while you're visiting. Finding the time to do all of the activities will be the problem. As we have not even touched on the food choices available to you here in our fair city. Or maybe you came out west for that Wild West experience of some fun gun play. Any one of the many gun ranges available right on the strip with packages available for purchase so one can experience shooting weapons ranging from small caliber to high power machine guns inside a facility or out-doors in the Mojave desert. One such facility is attached to an indoor sky-diving business.

One thing first time patrons are surprised by, is the sheer size of the Las Vegas Strip. In 1989 Steve Wynn brought the idea of huge to Las Vegas when he had the first mega-casino resort built and named it The Mirage. With the addition of such resorts as The Wynn, The Encore, Caesar's Palace and The MGM just to name a few Las Vegas is now known as the entertainment capital of the world, rightly so too. To finish off an evening of shows, concerts, skiing or shooting take in any one of our world famous buffets. Have dinner at Gordon Ramsey's burger bar, or a table reserved for an unforgettable dinner at Mr. Chow's, which just opened this year at Caesar's Palace. If you have found yourself at the mercy of the unforgiving Vegas sun find your way to The Rio and head inside to the Minus 5 ice bar to cool down, where packages starting as cheap as $17 will get you a parka, pictures and drinks inside the well-known icy venue. No matter your forte you will not be disappointed if you're vacationing in exciting, fun filled, sun-kissed Las Vegas, Nevada!
