Great Date Ideas For Couples

Depending upon where you live there are really so many cool things that you can do. It does not matter if you are lucky enough to live close to the mountains, or the ocean, there are beautiful places to enjoy out of doors in every locale if you do some homework.

No matter where you live you can find activities within a reasonable drive. There are plenty of lakes, and rivers, and forest preserves where you can spend the afternoon or early morning photography wildlife, going for a canoe ride, paddle-boating, fishing, biking or hiking. In the winter there is skiing, sleigh rides, ice fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, sledding, or outdoor campfires and roasts at major ski hills. Zoos are always fun. Warmer weather provides quite a lot of possibilities for those who are more adventurous. Why not rent motor-bikes, mopeds, jet skis, or drive to one of the white water rafting cities. You can visit a water park, go swimming at the beach, or a pool, have a BBQ with friends at the park and play volleyball or tennis. For older couples there are always art fairs, nature walks, romantic cruises, and drink / appetizer hopping set-ups at cool restaurants. Outdoor festivals and arcades offer activities that bring out the kid in you.

Going to a football game, baseball game, rugby game, soccer game or hockey game is always fun. If you can not attend a game in person the next best thing is to hang out and drink your favorite beer at a sports bar. There are some really upscale bars or neighborhood bars depending upon your style. If you are not much of a spectator why not spend some time at a recreation center or club playing your favorite sport, or get some friends together and set up a softball, basketball, volleyball, a round of golf or a tennis match with a BBQ Afterwards.

Why not take an afternoon and attend one of the local farmer's markets and buy some great vegetables that you can take home to create just the perfect meal for your sweetheart. Afterwards you can watch one of your favorite movies or one you have not yet seen. Sprawl out on the living room or family room floor and picnic in your house! You could arrange a bubble bath for two or a shower together. Why not play strip poker, strip war, other strip card game? For those of you with access to your own private swimming pool you can create a spectacular evening.

Rooftop dining experiences and alfresco dining is always fun. You can just go out for rooftop drinks in most major cities, or do appetizers and drinks or have an endless dinner alfresco or rooftop and take in the sights and sounds of the city.

One of the most romantic dates I can remember was going for a hot air balloon ride at 5AM. We soared just over the tree line and it was an exquisite feeling. You can bring your favorite beverage / picnic basket and make it really special. One of the coolest date ideas in the middle of winter is sitting in a hot tub at a quiet resort, or your own backyard if you have one, and looking out at the stars; You'll have to do your homework on that one and find a place that is not crowded. Hot Springs are also a treat if you happen to live within driving distance.

If you enjoy music why not head for a bandshell or other outdoor music festival. If you love to dance you could hit the local clubs, or find a band or artist around the town that you have not yet heard. Many restaurants also offer entertainment in their bar areas. Change the music that you listened to, get out and experience many different types of music; Jazz, blues, long-hair, big band, singer-songerwriter, pop, rock .... keep it interesting.

For movie goers, try one of the spectacular Gold Cinemas where you are able to order dinner and sit in cushy lounge chairs while you sip your favorite cocktail. Really different but a little pricey. Then there are places where you can go just to play upscale bocce ball games that include great food and drinks as well. There is always the bowling alley or playing a great game of billiards that you can share just with your date or another couple. There are still some drive-in movies to be found and that can be quite fun as long as mosquitoes are not included.

If you want to splurge on your date night why not give one of the dinner cruise lines a call. Most dinner cruises are not crowded and give great sex appeal as you drift off away from a bright lit city. Often they have wonderful bands and dancing goes on for three hours.

Have you ever spent a day just enjoying the great museums in your city? What about renting bicycles and going for a lakefront ride. Sports-minded couples seem to enjoy things like the shooting ranges or paintball events or even lazer tag parties. Some adults still like miniature golf or a regular round of golf.

Attending concerts of various kinds, plays, musicals and the opera are always good choices. If you want a little bit of excitement and you can control yourself you could share a night at one of the Race Tracks or casinos. Make a limit and do not go crazy or you will feel sick about that date the next day and many days to come.

What you do before and after the date destination can make or break the date, so mentally walk through the date ahead of time to be sure you have covered how you will get there - who will drive home or will you cab it? Being spontaneous is really fun too - so if you know your partner well enough you could even pack a surprise bag for them and stay overnight somewhere after the date.

Make life exciting, after all, life is not meant to be a spectator sport! Jump in and do things you have not experienced before, you will create memories that could last a lifetime.
