Television Today

If you were to ask 5 different people to define 'television', you would maybe get 10 different answers. For some, TV is entertainment, for others TV is NEWS. Others think of TV in terms of sport. For still others, TV is closed circuit systems used for internal communications and for many more television is home video and personal history.

Of course television is all these things and more.

But however you would answer or how it is produced and transmitted, all television has one thing in common:

It is used to communicate messages and ideas to a viewing audience.

To use it most effectively you will have to learn many TV and video production skills. But also you have to be a creative story teller who knows how to communicate well to the audience.

It requires a team of aesthetically sensitive and technically skilled individuals. Today, television has become a central part of this world culture. Most everyone has access to a TV.

Therefore the campaigns of advertiser have dramatically increased over the last 30 years. Also television is not only shown on your home TV set instead you can watch millions of videos, films, shows and programs in the world wide web.

The Internet gives you unlimited access to any kind of home entertainment. Businesses and organizations use the world wide web to screen their commercials, adverts, corporate videos online because they have recognized the potential it bears.

But also the average person is using online video by posting their home made videos on YouTube, Vimeo or other websites, (just to name a view). Today's century is all about visual content in any form, to any time and for everyone. No one can escape the influence and power the 21th century 'television'. Should we define 'television' new? What is it for YOU? What si it today? And where will it be in 10, 20 or 30 years from here on? 3D films and Focus are coming up as well but we had them many years ago already.

With the new technology 3D can be produced faster, more effective and realistic than ever before. Some of the big brand TV sets manufactures have recently announced that new technology is coming on the market.

So will we watch 'television' in some years only in 3D? That's even more powerful and would occupy us with even more realistic and mind changing pictures and content. TV sets get also bigger and bigger and has tripled in seize over the years. Most everyone can effort a TV set with 32inch and bigger.

Today's mobile phones can connect with the internet and people watch all kind of 'television' on the way to work. The future clearly holds more and more video, film and television and will be the biggest part of our daily live... or is it here already?
