Poker strategy is a strategy used in poker to maximize profits. Since poker is played with humans and everyone is unique there will not be one poker strategy that fits every type of game you join, you will have to adjust your strategy to optimize profits. Poker strategy can include a wide range of topics, I will try to list them all here and teach you a poker strategy.

For the micro stakes you should use a strategy similar to the following. This strategy is very tight and very aggressive. This is because nearly everyone playing micro stakes is very loose and calls down a lot of hands therefore by playing optimal hands we get a lot of value from our hands. Here is the poker strategy which you should use for the micro stakes or against loose passive / calling stations.

From early position play optimal hands such as AQ + TT +. From middle position you should play all of early plus middle pairs and AJ, From late position you should be playing all of the above plus small pairs, fitted connectors and fitted aces. Whenever you flop hands bet them hard never slow play hands because they will call with much weaker hands, this also means never bluff. If you flop hard bet hard, if you miss just check / fold.

That will be your ABC poker strategy and it is pretty much essential to learn especially for beating micro stakes and any other limit. Whenever you start to move up limits you may notice that your opponents are getting tougher and somehow start to know how you are playing. This is because our ABC poker strategy is very tight aggressive and see through. These types of players are watching us so different levels of thinking will come in to play and so will table image.

By playing tight they will start to know that we are only playing premium hands so they will start folding more in pots with us which means we will not win as much. So how are we going to counteract this? We are going to bluff more. We will do this by opening up our range slowly by playing more hands it does not really matter too much what hands we play because we are going to start bluffing.

Our opponents give us respect so our bluffs will be very successful. Keep doing this until you can get away with it, not too much though. So when they catch on they will know you were bluffing which is good so now your table image has changed from tight to lose. Now they wont know what you have in the next hand. If you think they are catching on its best to tighten up your image again and start showing down strong hands. So for low limits / middle we will need to change our poker strategy to throw our opponents of guard.

Now for the higher limits all of the above will be happening but they will know what you are doing and you will be eaten alive. So to beat the higher limits you will need to adjust your poker strategy a bit as well as doing all of the above. Higher limit players are thinking players. You will have to try your hardest to be one step ahead of them as with any player.

level 0 is my cards
level 1 is what does he have
level 2 is what does he think I have
level 3 is what he does think I think he has
and so on

To be one step ahead of the higher limits you will need to consistently mix up your game so that they do not get a read on you, you can do this by slow playing then fast playing, adjusting table image, playing the same hands differently each time you get them, just anything that you can do so they do not get a read on you.
