Many players can attest that the most frustrating part of a poker match is not knowing whether your hand outranks others at the poker table or not. Luckily, there are several kinds of winning poker hands that you can study and memorize in order to help win a game easily.

Winning Hands at Poker

Before you learn what the winning poker hands are, you must know the order of the cards from lowest to highest: 2 to Ace. Usually, the ace doubles as the lowest and highest card.

The next thing to do is to familiarize yourself with the different meaning of hands and the value of each type. The poker hands are also ranked from weakest to stronger, ie One Pair to Royal Flush. Winning a game lies on your ability to know the winning poker hands by heart.

One pair usually two cards with equal value. Two pair, on the other hand, consist of two one pairs. Three of kind contains three cards that have the same value. A straight is sequence of five cards not necessarily of the same suit.

The flush is the opposite of the straight because it has five cards of the same suit but not in sequence. A full house is simply a combination of the two pair and three of a kind. A four of a kind, however, contains all four kinds of cards with the same value.

The straight flush can contain any five card sequence but must be of the same suit. Lastly, the royal flush is a card sequence that starts from 10 to Ace, ie 10, J, Q, K, A.
